Sweet Fabrics of Calais, Maine was created in 2007 by textile artisan Jana Markow. Her company emerged as a way to provide unique and delightful gifts for children, to bring joy to both the giver and the receiver. Each item is handmade with care using the highest quality fabrics and techniques. The gift designs draw from a wide range of influences which produce an authentic playfulness with a hint of nostalgia. Jana's love of all things sewable varies from natural fibers such as wool felt and organic cotton to vintage linens, retro, kitschy prints, modern Japanese "Kawaii" cute characters and even paper. At Sweet Fabrics we create children's playthings that will stimulate the imagination.
