When Ebay made it possible to replace beloved long-lost dolls, I learned that the hard plastic and vinyl fashion dolls I loved as a little girl in the fifties are not hard to come by. I've added many Ideal Revlon dolls and American Character Toni dolls to my own collection. Hopefully, you've had similar success in recovering yours. But I soon discovered that vintage doll collectors face a real challenge in building a wardrobe for their treasured models. Original clothing is hard to find, and often in appalling condition, or extraordinarily expensive.
