Sculptured candles is an old German craft brought to this country many years ago. A sculpture spends anywhere from one to two years perfecting their skill.Here at The candle design studio, we take great pride in our candle sculptures to ensure that our customers are completely satisfied. We select only the finest paraffin wax. Each sculpture begins with a six point core candle individually poured. A design and color scheme is selected before the process begins. Vats of hot wax (160 degrees) are prepared, each containing a specific pigment dye to obtain just the right colors. We begin by dipping the core into the desired pigment color twenty plus times before sculpting begins. Once sculpting begins, the process has to be completed within minutes to prevent the wax from becoming cool and breaking. The final step in the process is to dip the candle in an acrylic glaze which adds luster and protection.What you get is a beautiful work of art that usually has multiple uses, and many years of enjoyment.Many customers who order wedding unity candles, birth announcements, memorial, birthday and others select styles that lend themselves to dates and names being added.
