When the 2014 golf season opens, players will see dramatic improvements that will make the Lynx more enjoyable an eminently more playable.Maintenance crews have been working hole by hole since July, cutting, trimming and cleaning up the Allegan County course to restore "the pride in the Lynx so the natural beauty of the course can be better seen and experienced," said new owner/general manager Jim Szilagyi.We're well on our way toward improving playing conditions, said Szilagyi, whose family has operated high-end, semi-private and public golf courses in Michigan since 1935."I've learned that golfers covet well-conditioned courses, from tee to green, and that is our immediate priority at the Lynx," Szilagyi said.The Lynx, on M-89 between Otsego and Allegan, unfolds across pristine pine and hardwood forests with five holes running alongside the Kalamazoo River. There's an "up north feeling" here with elevation changes of 100 feet on some holes, rolling hills and dramatic sky views and vistas.Our goal is to create a golf-friendly environment and to make the Lynx the ultimate golf destination.You don't have to play golf to enjoy the Lynx experience.
