Private music instruction in piano, voice and music theory for both children and adults.

The mission of The Metzger School Of Music is to provide high quality private instruction in singing, piano and music theory for students of all ages and at various levels of proficiency. We strive to encourage a life-long interest and participation in music while helping students to develop the skills necessary for performance. 30, 45 and 60-minute lessons are offered, usually, once a week. Piano accompaniment as well as a cd recording of each session is provided for all voice lessons. Singers are first warmed up, given voice-building and eartraining exercises, and then work on selected songs. Piano lessons consist of technical warm-ups followed by repertoire. Children's piano lessons are less technique oriented and skills are developed through the playing of fun, developmental songs. Music theory lessons center around reading pitches, rhythms, intervals, clefs, meters and chords as well as determining keys and basic form and analysis.
