Practical experience has shown 12-Step recovery programs are the most successful and efficient method for arresting alcoholism and drug addiction. We require our residents to obtain a sponsor and begin taking the 12-Steps of any relevant recovery program within the first 14 days of their residency. At The Way Out Sober Living we work out alcoholism and drug addiction on a spiritual basis, practicing the principles the 12-Steps teach. At our facility, we define "spirituality" as "as the accepted rule of conduct, within one's self, which propels them throughout their day." By doing this, our residents learn to harness the voice and feeling within, rather than running their lives by what the thoughts inside their head tell them.
