We actually drove out to kit Carson and met teresa aND her husband before we bought our little shih tzu. They were very nice we asked to see the parents of the puppy and we're told they would bring out his mother.( To be honest at first glance once you arrive at their kennel I was afraid because it totally looks like a puppy mill. They have too many breeds.) We gave our deposit for the puppy and made arrangements to meet up in Colorado Springs by the air force academy gates. In the mean time Theresa would send photos of our little puppy weekly so we could see how he's progressing. Once we met up in Colorado Springs to pick him up we went over all the initial paper work. Since we met on a Friday they told us we had 7 days to take him to a vet of our choice. However be aware because in the paperwork it states you have 3 days.......our shih tzu puppy came with his shot record which was up to date, his nails had already been trimmed,ect. We took our new puppy to the vet the following day and he passed with flying colors. I took the time to write Theresa and tell her that everything was fine with the puppy she was glad to hear it. And that's the last time we spoke to the folks from tlc kennel.really we have nothing bad to say about how they treated us or how the transaction went. It was all handled with care. I do wish that maybe they made it more convenient when purchasing puppies from them that they would come out to you the customer especially if you live in Denver

There are other kennels out there that do deliver. Yes you pay a little more but it might be worth it

We had to take a day off work just to drive to Colorado Springs in awful weather over monarch pass.

So that might be something they might want to look into doing to stay competitive..also I know other kennels provide you with a same sample bag of dog food for when the puppy goes home. Tlc kennel did not do that for us.so by the time we got home fr colorado springs the puppy was already hungry

These are just some suggestions to maybe ask for. Or for them to consider for their next customer. Overall first impressions don't necessarily mean your always right. Even though it looks pretty bad and over crowded my assumptions could totally be misleading. This is the first time I've ever gotten a dog. And about the 2nd or 3rd time to a kennel. But regardless if it is a puppy mill or not our little rubble passed the test and the vet said he is one happy puppy. So we couldn't be happier. ................................................................................
