About A Furtado I was born in 1957 on the beautiful Island of ST Miguel Azores. I was the second youngest child of 6.children As a young boy I was always reminded of my talents and that I should follow them. Always with a paper and a pencil in hand I used to draw everything that I thought was amazing. Friends, teachers and family were always impressed and encouraged me to continue with my talent. I remember my very first inspiration to draw, a simple cow. An artist had come to my village and painted a picture of a cow on the dairy facility. I was amazed and must have drawn that cow a 100 times before moving onto churches and other subjects. In 1970 I migrated to the US. That is where my older brother helped me to develop my talent by teaching me the importance of shading and perspect
