For over ten years, Yes Master has been one of the most sought after studios in the music industry, mastering critically-acclaimed projects for an ever-expanding list of satisfied clients from all over the world.Founded in 1998, it began as a side project for engineer Jim DeMain. “I’d been recording and mixing for about twenty years at that point,” he says. “But as the industry changed and budgets got tighter, I found myself having to do more mastering on the projects I was involved with. By coincidence, people were hearing what I was doing and I started getting requests to master other records.” As his client list grew, DeMain realized he preferred mastering to recording and mixing, and decided to make it his main focus.In 2002, he moved the business out of his home studio, and teamed up with acoustic designer Carl Tatz to build a state-of-the-art mastering room that DeMain says “sounds fantastic.”As for what’s made Yes Master so successful over the years, DeMain’s philosophy is simple. “We just try and make every project sound the best it can”. “A huge amount of our business is due to word of mouth, so it is very important that we always treat each client with respect and do the very best work we can”
