Zachia Middlechild

Contemporary artist, portrait and landscape artist, sculptor, EcoSpiritual Expressionist, selling original oils, prints (for charity) and sculpture.

Zachia Middlechild is a senior artist who loves the Earth and endeavors to promote environmental and spiritual awareness through her art. She also does traditional portraits, sculpture, charcoal, and pastels, but most of her work is oil on canvas. Her charity, "Artists for the Earth", is donating all the profits from her print sales to environmental charities. In her own words: " I guess you could say I grew up in the woods! I was born in the city of Seattle, but when I was seven years old we moved across the lake to the country where I had 60 acres of forest to play in, no neighbors for miles, and horses to ride! Back then Western Washington was all rolling hills, forested with red cedar, hemlock, spruce, and mostly Douglas fir, a veritable evergreen wonderland! I don't think it's possible to grow up as close to nature as I did, (I spent most of my time in a tree or beside a frog pond), and not have a strong feeling for the earth show up in my artwork. I think my work alternates between trying to recapture the woods into my living room and conveying the concept of life and nature that I developed while spending time there." The art booklet, "A Journey into Earth, Art, and Higher Consciousness" and the Limited Editions it highlights, is the culmination of more than 30 years of artistic study.
