Nearly a quarter of a century ago, a group of bakers got together and began churning out a misshapen little confection that caused quite a stir. It was ugly. It became "The Ugly".First sold from a bakery storefront in Kannapolis, North Carolina, the Uglies were an immediate hit.The founding group outgrew its facilities just as investors were noticing the success of the Ugly. The Apple Baking Company ramped up production and relocated operations to its current home on Apple Road just outside historic Salisbury, North Carolina.Over the years we've churned out more Uglies than we can count.
