Nearly a quarter of a century ago, a group of bakers got together and began churning out a misshapen little confection that caused quite a stir. It was ugly. It became "The Ugly".First sold from a bakery storefront in Kannapolis, North Carolina, the Uglies were an immediate hit.The founding group outgrew its facilities just as investors were noticing the success of the Ugly.
