I'm sure I'm not the only one who was in a position to decide what to do after a layoff due to lack of work in the recession of 2008. Opportunity knocked and I opened the door. In fact, when one door closes, another opens for those whose eyes and ears are open to the possibilities. I love what I do and to change after 25 years just didn't make sense to me, although it has morphed into a particular field - senior living - following many years of tenant improvement and corporate design. Design needs aren't really so different after all; just molded to a specific set of needs. I'm happy to be healthy enough to continue doing what I love - helping people in the field of interior design.
