Charity Kopczeski comes from a piano family. She started working on pianos as a teenager, when her father (a piano tuner, piano technician, and piano mover) would bring instruments to their shop. Her mother refinishes piano cabinets, and she has siblings and nephews who also work in various piano related fields (piano tuning, repairing, moving, refinishing, sales, lessons, performance). She began tuning in 1992 and has also refurbished and rebuilt pianos with her husband Bob. She performs piano tunings by ear in conjunction with the state-of-the art tuner Sanderson Accu-tuner.
