TIA MARIA BAKERY was founded in 1997 in the state of Georgia. The original market for the Hispanic breads, pastries, and deserts was to sell pre-baked products to the many supermarkets and convenience stores in the greater Atlanta area. As the business grew, TIA MARIA began to operate bakeries inside of some of the major grocery stores that had a high volume of Hispanic customers. In the year 2000, the owners decided to consolidate production of their products in one place, eliminating the need for specialized equipment and labor at each location. This was the beginning of the development of TIA MARIA's current line of frozen breads, pastries and deserts.
